A day of reckoning

We are witness to the economy in steep decline. There is a day coming soon when billions of government dollars will no longer pour into the local economy. There will come a day where bad government, bad planning and bad management can no longer be covered up by an always expanding tax base and increasing tax revenues. There will come a day when you, the taxpayer, says enough is enough and I will not stand for largess in local, state and federal government. There will come a day when the citizens will no longer allow the existence of a government where the citizens exist to serve the government, rather, the government will exist for the benefits of its citizens. There will come a day where public servants will be allowed to perform their jobs as their professional training has taught them to do, without interference from politicians. Where government employees can do the right thing and say "this is what I should do." not "If I do what I should do, my political bosses will be upset". There will come a day when the self serving bureaucrats are removed so the government will function for the benefit of the entire community and not just to preserve the power of the institution of government. One day elected officials will be held accountable for willfull expensive miss steps made by our goverment. These errors and ommissions should and will have consequences.
