An email was circulated last week calling for the boycott of a business because they had a sign supporting a certain candidate for city council. Do you agree that businesses who appear to support one candidate over another should be disparaged in an email campaign calling for citizens to boycott them forever? Should businesses support one candidate over another by displaying campaign signs? When was the first amendment suspended in League City?

Busy Monday for City Affairs.
Today at 8:30 A.M. was the Branding boot camp led by Roger Brooks of Destination Development A very interesting discussion of branding League City. Mr. Brooks has some very valuable input for League City. His assessment was insightful. Assessment video

Participants of note in attendance were Councilman Mike Lee and Mick Phalen.
4:00 P.M The Municipal Improvement District held the first of many meetings with local business persons. Participants of note in attendance were, again, Councilman Mike Lee and Mick Phalen.
It is great to see the dedication of Council persons and all the other participants in these functions.

And Then it was Three!
I received this email this afternoon from Chris Stevens. Its contents are confirmed.
Thank you to family, friends and supporters of my candidacy for City Council Position 7. Your encouragement is something I will always cherish. However, after careful consideration and thorough discussion I have decided that Joanna Sharp and I can work better together seeking the same bright future for League City rather than seeking the same position on city council. With the leadership of Mayor Randall and a fiscally responsible majority on council, League City is making tremendous strides in correcting inherited problems of the past, making careful plans for the future and building up "good government".
Therefore for the good of the city and a united conservative movement, I am asking all my supporters to embrace and vote for Joanna Sharp Dawson as their next city council member. Since the deadline to officially withdraw has passed my name will still appear on the ballot but my campaign efforts have ceased. However, my support and work for 'Joanna Sharp for City Council Position 7' has just begun!
God Bless,
Chris Stevens

1,740 Red light Camera Tickets to be dismissed.
You may be due refund on a redlight camera tickets. Due to yellow light timing issues at the intersection of I45 and FM 518, League City has decided to issue refunds. The state requires 4.7 seconds of delay between a yellow and the change to red. If you were ticketed for running a red light and you passed from yellow into the red light with in 4.79 seconds, which is the time the yellow should have lasted with the League City .9 second added buffer, you might be due a refund from Redflex Traffic Systems. customer service number is 800-752-4874. Position 7 Race getting Crowded
Today is the last day to file for office in the upcoming council race in League City. There seems to be an abundance of candidates who want to run in the council position currently held by Jim Nelson. Candidates in the running are Tim Holloway, Joanna Sharp, Tom Garland, and Chris Stevens is purported to throw his hat into the race today. Sounds like a formula for a run off election. Anyone else going to throw their hat in?
